Yep, you read that correctly. I’m engaged! I’m so excited to seal the deal with my best friend! It’s been a few weeks now & I’ve gone through quite the stir of emotions. This ring on my finger — despite being distracting & totally drool-worthy — is starting to feel normal. Once the dust settles & people stop congratulating you, they start asking the inevitable, stress-inducing, question, “when’s the wedding?!” Ummm, queue the heart palpitations!
This is the exact moment where you realize you have an entire wedding to plan and so much to do. Can I just say that before this happened I barely had a wedding Pinterest board. All of these years I’ve been making fun of the girls that were planning their weddings sans-boyfriend and now I’m sitting here feeling kind of stupid. That really bit me in the ass, didn’t it? So this is the beginning of my wedding planning journey — Part 1: The Inspiration.
What I do know is that I’d like a fall wedding in Savannah, Georgia. Destination wedding — yep, let’s just add on to the stress level. My fiancé (whoa) and I vacationed there about a year ago and we were completely intoxicated with Savannah. It’s such a charming, beautiful city. Without a clue where to start, I did what I know best – I made a mood board. I’m obsessed with the idea of having a string light-filled atmosphere & a sparkler send-off. How fun is that?! Also, on a six-hour flight I managed to map out our guest-list (give or take a few), which means I am now able to give a ballpark guest count to possible venues. While these are just small details, I already feel a little more at ease.
Wedding enthusiasts, married women, and engaged people of the blogger-verse: please give me some pro-tips here! It would be much appreciated! Until next time…
