If you’re reading this on site, you’ll notice things are a little different around here. I redesigned the blog a few months back and have been working with a developer (slowly) to bring the new design to life. A few pages are still undergoing a revamp, but I guess you could consider this the “soft launch”. Surprise! Overall it’s a much more simplified, single-column, blog that will allow my images and graphic work to shine.
OK! Now that I’ve addressed the new look, let’s talk about the fact that I’ll be living in sunny California until March 31st, shall we?

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Since my fiancé and I both work from home we decided to escape winter and head west (because why the hell not)? It’s actually been pretty chilly here, which has resulted in complete sartorial confusion. What does one wear when a perfect 73 degree day turns into a bone-chilling, cold night? I actually hunted down the nearest Target to buy a space heater on day one of our trip. Naturally they were all sold out. I’m seriously not a nice person when I’m cold. There should be a term for that…Cangry? Nevermind. I shouldn’t complain though, I’ve been getting weather app screenshots from friends in Ohio that read “-4 degrees”. Painfully cold!
I love that our Solana vacation home is really well decorated. Our landlord’s wife is an interior designer and she obviously understands the awesomeness that is IKEA. The workspace was built with their shelving units and layered over a rustic wood backdrop. I can’t express how important it is for me to work in an inspiring space!
The NEW NORMAL
It feels so strange to see so much plant life in January! Jason and I plan on coming back every winter, so I guess this will be the new normal. If any of you live here or are familiar with the area I’d love to hear suggestions on things to do and see while we’re here. I also would love to grab a coffee with you if you’re a freelancer or creative living in the area!
